I3's
I3 stands for Integrated Infrastructure Initiative. The Integrated Infrastructure Initiatives are one of the integrative activities to support the European Research Infrastructures.
Each Integrated Infrastructures Initiative (I3) combine, within a single contract, several activities essential to reinforce research infrastructures and to provide an integrated service at the European level. More specifically, it cover:
(1) networking activities (including consortium management);
(2) provision of access to transnational users
(3)joint research activities. The latter will in particular aim at raising the level of the performance of the infrastructures concerned.

There are currently 21 Integrated Infrastructure Initiatives (I3's), each with similar problems, challenges and issues.
I³net aims to be a collective with a unique voice to communicate with the EC.
